In an enchanted forest, Clarissa, the Fairy Queen, witnesses an incredible event.
The Flower of Life, the original source of all fairies, gives birth to three twin sisters. Clarissa knows that male fairies are very rare and twin sisters are also rare, but triplets are unheard of.
“I bid you welcome, delightful fairies. I am Queen Clarissa. What are your names?”
The queen looks radiant with her very long blonde hair, her sparkling tiara, her multicolored dress, her ivory skin and her violet eyes. Like any fairy, she has pointed ears.
The three twin sisters all have long black hair, brown eyes, fair skin and they’re all wearing the same white dress - the kind worn by newborn fairies.
Since the triplets don't answer her, the queen asks her question again.
“What are your names?”
Suddenly, the three fairies start talking but something isn't quite right.
“Ko… ko… Meko!” Said one fairy.
“Me…roro! Mero!” Said the other one.
“Meio… Meio!” Said the last one.
“I am sorry?” Asked Clarissa.
“Meio!”
“Mero!”
“Meko!”
It seems those are their names. However, the triplets don't say anything else.
“No...” said the Fairy Queen softly, with sadness.
A cruel Law has existed among the fairies since time immemorial. If a fairy is born with any kind of disability - known as a Flaw - she must be banished and leave the enchanted forest. Clarissa has never known whether the banished fairies survived but she must enforce the Law. She whistles and three male fairies arrive.
“Queen Clarissa,” said one of them.
“These fairies, even though they are the world’s first triplet fairies, have a Flaw. As the Law requires, they must be banished.”
“Understood,” said another male fairy.
The three male fairies seize Meio, Mero and Meko. The sisters scream, struggle and cry as their attackers carry them away.
As they make their way through the forest, many female fairies stop what they’re doing to watch them.
“That's so sad!” Said one of them. “More banished fairies…”
“Are there three of them? Three sisters?” Asks another fairy. “But that's unheard of!”
“It doesn't matter,” said a third fairy. “They have a Flaw and the Law is clear.”
Meio, Mero, and Meko scream their names in despair as the three male fairies cast them out of the magical forest.
Neither Queen Clarissa nor the other fairies have seen them since.
